
(leave of absence) Joseph Brooks, upon completing his senior year at Orem High School, was named Senior Class Most Musical Male. He began taking piano lessons at the age of eight, and his love of music took off from there. He took private voice lessons at Brigham Young University and there sang in choirs under the direction of Mack Wilberg and Ronald Staheli. While in the BYU Men’s Chorus, he sang the original solo part of Gaston in their Beauty and the Beast medley. He graduated from BYU with a BA in music and subsequently returned to earn an MBA in the Marriott School of Management. He enjoys following BYU sports and loves spending time with his wife, Julianne, and their three children: Joey, Tommy, and Sarah.

Clark Gunnerson has a passion for music that began while singing around the piano with his family. Throughout high school and college, Clark honed his skills in choirs and musical theater, singing in the BYU Men’s Chorus and playing roles like Curly in Oklahoma! and Nephi and James in the LDS Church’s production of Savior of the World. His musical journey expanded during his LDS mission in Bordeaux, France, where he twice toured the mission as part of a musical performing group. Clark continues to explore music through casual piano playing and composition. Beyond music, he finds joy in biking, fitness, pickleball, and spending time with his wife and five boys.

Jared Hancock started singing in church and talent shows at a young age. His love of choral music was developed in high school when he was a member of the inaugural madrigal choir at Tooele High School. He performed as part of the Mormon Youth Chorus and BYU Men’s Chorus during his college years. Most recently, Jared sang with the Salt Lake Vocal Artists under Brady Allred until taking a job as a chemistry professor at Utah Tech University. Jared also loves theater and ballroom and has performed most recently in productions of My Fair Lady and Pirates of Penzance. He is the co-director of the Utah Tech Youth Ballroom Company.

Nathan Holman has always loved music and performing. As an undergraduate on a performance scholarship, he attended Southern Utah University and sang in Acclamation, SUU’s premier performance group. In one year, he performed in over 100 shows across the country and internationally. During his junior and senior years, he performed with Opus, SUU’s chamber choir, which included a performance at Carnegie Hall. He enjoys playing the piano and is currently studying the violin. He attended the University of Utah medical school and practices emergency medicine in St. George, Utah.

(leave of absence) Clint Jarvis started his musical journey as a young child, singing in various children’s choirs, learning the piano, and participating in state and national fiddle contests. He attended Brigham Young University-Idaho, where he sang with the Vocal Union Jazz Ensemble and Collegiate Singers. During his LDS mission to Southern California, Clint organized, directed, and arranged music for a missionary singing group, The Messengers, who put on multiple performances and went on to record an album. He has had the pleasure of singing with the St. George Chamber Singers since its inception in 2015. Clint and his family enjoy hiking, canyoneering, and ATVing both here in Southern Utah and beyond.

Robert Simmons, section leader, is a bass/baritone based in St. George. Musical roles include the Bass Soloist in Mozart’s Requiem, Emile de Becque in South Pacific, Pilate in Jesus Christ Superstar, Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd, and Jacob Marley in Scrooge. Rob sang with the Utah Opera Company for two seasons appearing in productions of Aida, Il Trovatore, Tosca and Don Giovanni, and performed in the BYU Oratorio Choir and Concert Choir under Ron Staheli. He received a BS magna cum laude in international business from BYU and an MBA in finance from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University. Rob has performed in a variety of choral and musical theater productions around the country and sang the national anthem at an Utah Jazz basketball game.
